Prices for selected diagnostic Procedures and Surgeries at Samitivej Hospital(s)
Note : Ministry of Commerce announced that the central committee on pricing of goods and services’ meeting has agreed to authorise the Department of Internal Trade to implement control measures for pricing of medicine, medical supplies and medical services. This news was first mentioned in January 2019. Hospitals have been fighting control over pricing of medications, procedures and medical services. Still, information remains limited on the websites of the more important private hospitals in Bangkok. Some hospitals give relevant info about diseases and treatments, for which they can be commended. Pricing info is lacking most of the time, and when available sometimes temporary so.
However, in March 2020 we noticed more information on the website of Samitivej Hospital. Then again, in 2023, a lot of the procedures previously priced, did not show the information anymore. Still, when looking at 'promotion and packages' you may (in between 'exotic' exams) find some useful information.
Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital (the main hospital) is located on Sukhumvit Soi 49. It is not quite as modern looking as Bumrungrad Hospital, in fact the main entrance and building are positively dated. Samitivej has opened other locations in Bangkok and the Eastern provinces : Samitivej Srinakarin (eastern Bangkok), Samitivej Srirache, east of Bangkok, Samitivej International Children's Hospital (Bangkok), Samitivej Thonburi (western Bangkok), and Samitivej Chonburi, north of Pattaya.
