Thai Spirit Houses : More Images

This Thai Spirit House is left standing amidst the rubble, after some houses were destroyed, in preparation for the building of a condominium. Notice the damage on the right side.

This San Phra Phum is located at the place where we live. Notice the prang on top of the building structure.

Thai Spirit Houses are often illuminated at night. Notice the Phra Chai Mongkol figurine standing in the middle.

Large San Phra Phum (more likely called a shrine) with statue of Phra Chai Mongkon at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Silom Road.

This San Phra Phum features a rather futuristic glass house structure. We saw it at a brand new hotel called 'Dream' on Sukhumvit Soi 15.

There is a moderately sized shrine in front of Bumrungrad Hospital. When having a closer look it does not house Phra Chai Mongkol, but another 'celestial being' or deity. The statue has four arms. When asking the person caring for the shrine, we were told this shrine was dedicated to 'JaoMae' which we might translate as the 'Mother Earth Goddess' or 'Mother Goddess'.
